Woman Cuts Off Don Lemon’s Live Broadcast, ‘Hello, Uncle Tom, Hello?!’

They say when you have an opportunity, seize it! That’s exactly what a woman did yesterday during CNN anchor Don Lemon’s live broadcast in Charleston, South Carolina, the site of the tragic massacre, killing nine innocent Black parishioners at Emanuel A.M.E. church.

While Lemon and John Berman, another CNN anchor reported, a Black woman came up behind them and started shouting, “We’re mad! We’re angry! Tell the truth!”

Off camera, she could be heard screaming, “White people are terrorists! This is not a hate crime!”

And if that wasn’t enough, she began calling Lemon an Uncle Tom!

“Don, are you angry? Uncle Tom? Hello? We’re angry. Speak about the anger. Talk about the anger.”

The woman then let off some steam about President Obama.

“The president is a puppet! Stop the lies! Stop the lies! He’s an Uncle Tom, too. President Obama’s an Uncle Tom too.”

Wrapping up, she said, “Black folks, get off your knees. And stop praying.”

We don’t cosign this woman’s thoughts about President Obama, but judging from the backlash Lemon faced and continues to face when it comes to some of his views on social issues, old girl’s actions aren’t that off.

For the past few years, Lemon’s reputation with the Black community has been sketchy, to say the least.

Many feel and by many, we mean about 99.9 percent of Black Twitter, he constantly takes a so-called “neutral” stance, loaded with respectability politics while oversimplifying critical issues facing the Black community.

Given his platform on CNN as one of the network’s few Black anchors, it seems Lemon tries to cater to different audiences. He’s often the butt of Black Twitter’s jokes and whenever he’s a trending topic, it’s not for good reason.

Who could forget that photo of him reporting in Ferguson, MO. in the wake of the Michael Brown shooting, with Black people in the background giving him the side eye?

What do you think?
