Don’t you just love a good orgasm? That one where you’re clinging your sheets so hard, your stiletto nails rip through the thread. Your head turns in a 360 like the Exorcist and your chest does that breathe in and breathe out crunk-style move that made Chris Brown famous. You too? I know I wasn’t the only one!

Ever heard of a sneezegasm? You know, the one myth that says if you sneeze seven times in a row you will experience the pleasures of an orgasm?

Well here’s science proving that ish may be somewhat true. A half truth is so much better than a flat out lie, no?

Research suggests sneezing and orgasms have loads of things in common. They’re like play cousins!

According to Live Science, both orgasms and sneezes release endorphins, small protein-like molecules whose primary function is to inhibit the transmission of pain signals and ultimately produce a feeling of euphoria, (e.g. the feel goods!) Science also says your genitals and your nose contain the same erectile tissue. Wow! Who knew?

Sneezing is a reflex that involves tension and release just like orgasms. Both sneezing and orgasms have that sensation where you think it’s coming…you’re almost there…here it comes…and nope! Nothing pisses me off like that shit!

What’s more, cases have been reported where women and men actually sneeze when sexually aroused. Happened to me once with a guy in undergrad in the bathroom during tailgate. Okay nevermind, it’s totes TMI!

Doctors think the sneezing during arousal thing happens because crossed wires in the nervous system causing automatic functions in your body, like “waking up” the genitals during arousal.

Thinking about running to the store for some sneeze pepper? I’ll race you!
