Oh Look! Another White Frat Threw Racial Slurs!

These southern White fraternities are doing a bang up job of bringing us that old “Southern charm”.

The Phi Delta Theta fraternity on Georgia Tech’s campus has been suspended after several of the members were accused of yelling racial slurs at a Black student this past August.

The student has chosen to remain anonymous but has explained she was passing the house when she saw a group of the fraternities members at the window, making rude gestures at her.

In an interview with Channel 2 Action News, she said, “I got into my car [and] noticed that they were sticking their heads out of the window and flicking me off. I opened my window to hear what they were saying, and they were screaming (expletive) you (racial slur) and (expletive) you (expletive) repeatedly. So when that happened, I drove off.”

An investigation into the situation was launched after students silently protested in front of the Phi Delta Theta frat house. The national chapter initially claimed no proof of the incident existed, but quickly changed their tune in the suspension statement which read:

“During suspension in abeyance, the chapter is restricted to academic activities and approved non-academic activities, which include recruiting new members, holding meetings to conduct chapter business, and service activities. The chapter may neither participate in Greek Week or Homecoming nor host, co-host, or participate in social events on campus, with or without alcohol.”

There’s something about the frats in the south. Remember when members of SAE chanted that classic song they learned at a leadership conference?

“There will never be a n***** in SAE.
There will never be a n***** in SAE.
You can hang him from a tree, but he can never sign with me
There will never be a n***** in SAE.”

Yeah, that song.

Phi Delta Theta is suspended until August 2016, but that’s still not enough time for them to learn how to act.
