Any day now, Frank Ocean could release his highly-anticipated follow-up album to 2012’s Channel Orange, which he took home a Grammy for in the Best Urban Contemporary Category in 2013.

The last official news we heard was that the singer would be releasing a new album and magazine in July.

Now that we’re into August, many fans have gotten impatient wanting new music from Ocean to bless their souls.

But Ocean is far from the only artist to be way overdue for a new album.

Usher New Album

Usher really had us going last year when he released the songs “Good Kisser,” “She Came to Give it To You” and “I Don’t Mind,” along with embarking on a fall tour that reminded people why he’s such a big deal.

But since then, there’s no rumored new album release date. Not even a leaked new single.

However, if you follow him on Instagram (howuseeit), Usher will occasionally post photos and song snippets while in the studio.

Music is in a tricky place with streams being the new cool kid on the block, so maybe Usher’s hesitant to release anything that’s not 100 percent.

The singer is said to be taking his time with his next album as he’s also busy with his New Look Foundation.

In an interview with, he said of his long-awaited new music, “The album is coming. Right now it’s not the topic of discussion because of all the other things I’ve been doing…But the album will come when it comes.”

Until then, we’ll just have to play our Usher catalog.

Maxwell New Music

Since we’re about keeping it real, Maxwell owes us a couple albums since 2009’s BLACKsummer’snight

That album was supposed to be the first in a trilogy, so when will we get to hear Summers

In a 2014 interview with the L.A. Times, the singer is aware that fans are waiting, saying, “it means people care.”

True, and in recent years, Maxwell has been plagued by vocal injuries which caused him to cancel a tour in 2012.

But we’re not mad at Maxwell because clearly he’s living life as evidenced on his Instagram (_maxwell_) where he’s traveling the globe and most likely writing new songs for us to sing along to.

He’s like the male Sade who can release music at anytime and fans will instantly adore it. We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes on a Summers release date.

Mario New Music

Mario is probably one of the most underrated male R&B singers. He can sing, has hit records and if you let a fan tell it, has never made a bad album.

His last release was 2009’s D.N.A. and after taking some time off, going through label changes and a short stint as an independent artist, Mario is gearing up to finally give fans what they’ve been waiting for.

He’s now signed to Capitol Records and his Instagram (marioworldwide) hashtags have been teasing a forthcoming album slated to be released in December. We’ll be waiting.

Lloyd has been very quiet these past couple years, and it’s time for him to resurface. His songs “You” and “Get It Shawty” still get parties hype and make us question if he said “fine too” or “five two.”

Just listen to his Street Love album and you’ll see why he’s needed back in the R&B game.

The former Murder Inc. artist has proven that he can stand on his own and make hit records.

Anthony Hamilton

Anthony Hamilton has one of the most recognizable voices in R&B today. You can always count on him to give you an album full of soul.

Unfortunately, the Charlotte, NC native and his wife just announced that they will be getting a divorce.

For some reason, these types of situations always seem to bode well for the fans music-wise but, of course, not for the artist.

This major life change will definitely have an effect on his forthcoming sound, which will be a follow-up to his 2011 album, Back to Love.
