Can a Joint Beyonce and Jay-Z Album Save Tidal?

No one puts Tidal—or Jay-Z— in a corner!

In an attempt to seemingly breathe life into his latest venture Tidal, Jay-Z reportedly plans to exclusively release a joint album with his wife Beyonce on the streaming music app.

On Wednesday, reports swarmed on Tidal’s fall out of the top 700 iPhone apps. A Jay Z and Beyonce joint album sold exclusively on Tidal could be the one thing to ignite the music streaming service. Or could it?

Last September on the heels of the couple’s monster world tour, rumor surfaced around a likely joint album from the power couple. But both star’s camps have been mum, of course. On Wednesday, DJ Skee said the album is almost done—Skee was also the one who suggested that the album was a possibility. Producer Detail, who worked on “Drunk in Love,” teased about a possible album as well.

This joint album won’t be the first exclusive Jay and Bey release on Tidal. To celebrate the couple’s seventh wedding anniversary on April 4, Beyonce released the song and music video “Die With You” on Tidal — which was directed by Hov himself. Also, Jay Z premiered his video for “Glory” exclusively on the app as well.

Would you subscribe to Tidal for a Carter joint album? Sound off!
