Kim Kardashian Says She’s Voting for Hillary Clinton

If you follow the political beliefs of the Kardashian/Jenner family, then you may have heard the reports about the family being Republican. A couple years ago, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and sat at the Fox News table.

Caitlyn Jenner, albeit transgender, is a conservative Republican who may not even support gay marriage.

Late last week, there were reports Kim was considering voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

A quote from her interview with Wonderland Magazine, which was not published in the profile story, quoted Kim as saying, “At first I thought, ‘Oh my god, I’m so Hillary,’ but I had a long political call with Caitlyn last night about why she’s voting Trump. I’m on the fence.”

On Saturday, Kim wrote a post on her website clearing up her political views and thoughts on this year’s presidential election.

“A ‘quote’ of mine was released yesterday causing my phone to blow up by friends, family and even both candidates’ camps, so I want to explain the context in which I said I was ‘on the fence’ about my vote,” she wrote.

The reality star and mother of two said she wasn’t set on voting this year because she did not want to “vote blindly.”

“I believe we owe it to ourselves, and to each other, to ask questions,” wrote Kim. “To do our research so that we vote for the candidate who represents our own beliefs. We should start at a place of openness, receptiveness and honesty, and we should talk to those we love, trust and respect.”

Kim also revealed she had a “long conversation” with Caitlyn, who is a longtime Republican, and has shown support from Trump in the past. She said Caitlyn told her to research both candidates to find out what “policies aligned with the things that matter most to me.”

“I thought about the things that are so important to me that they outweigh everything else, such as gun control and protecting women’s rights to safe and legal abortion. I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I’m with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job.”

To keep things diplomatic, Kim added in her post, she does not believe in demonizing Trump supporters.

“I would never judge anyone based on their political or religious beliefs. I believe that both candidates have the intention of making the country a safer and stronger place for every American, they just have different ideas about how we get there,” she wrote.

Kim’s support for Clinton shouldn’t be a big surprise because last year, she and husband, Kanye West, took a picture with the Democratic presidential candidate and posted it on Instagram.

Kim captioned the photo, saying, ““I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident”
