You Salty or Nah? The Great Grits Debate of 2016
With 2016 being an election year we have seen our fair share of debates; heated, long, and sometimes controversial. But no MSNBC special can hold a candle to the never ending war on how people eat grits.
Over the last few weeks people have been obsessively battling over whether grits should be served with salt or sugar. The presidential candidates mud slinging is nothing compared to the way Black twitter is coming for each other. Family’s are being broken apart, friendships are ending, even the block hand has gotten stronger.
People in these streets are getting their feelings hurt over a grains. Grains of salt, grains of sugar, grains of grit.
Now who’s winning this debate? We really can’t be sure.
It first seemed like salt was the clear champion, because sugar is clearly for basics:

This debate has raged on for over a week and there seems to be no end in sight.
In fact it’s spiraled out into other debates, including some strange argument about putting sugar in rice, chili, and…spaghetti?
With all this discussion about grits though, there seems to be one vital question missing.
