The Most Lit Moments on Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’ Visual Album
Beyonce is creatively on another level. She’s continuing to push the envelope with her music, visuals and the stories she’s telling. The HBO premiere of ‘LEMONADE‘ was an event itself and showcased the power, vulnerability, insecurity, anger, sadness and disappointment women experience throughout their lives. The visual was full of cameo appearances and memorable wardrobe and beauty moments.
Serena Williams twerking
There’s no doubt Beyonce and Serena Williams are dominating their respective industries, so it was a pleasant surprise to see Serena make an appearance and twerk for the gods. Beyonce was sitting on a throne reminiscent of Serena’s Sports Illustrated cover, while Serena twerked similar to Beyonce’s choreography.
Showing love to the new generation.
Beyonce is always gracious when it comes to supporting new talent. Just look at the artists she’s signed to her record label. Featured in the ‘LEMONADE’ film are her recently signed artists, sister duo, Chloe X Halle, twins Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz of the music duo Ibeyi, actresses Zendaya and Amandla Stenberg.
Also featured was 12-year-old Oscar-nominated actress, Quvenzhane Wallis.
Jay Z’s grandmother Hattie White.
The woman featured who said, “I was given lemons and made lemonade,” was none other than Jay Z‘s grandmother, Hattie White.
Mothers of sons who lost their lives to police brutality.
A few weeks ago, there were reports Beyonce would be featuring the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown in a new music video. In ‘LEMONADE,’ we got to see them make an appearance along with the mother of Eric Garner.
The moving poetry of Warsan Shire.
Throughout ‘LEMONADE,’ Beyonce recited poetry which was from British poet Warsan Shire, a Black woman.
Touching moment with Jay Z.
There were several moments throughout ‘LEMONADE’ which made many of us question if everything was all good in Beyonce and Jay Z’s household. Was Beyonce calling out Jay Z for stepping out on her? Was she telling her mother’s story? Regardless of what we believe, it was nice to see the two come together at the end of the film and show how much they love each other.
