Last year makeup addicts across the web leaned hard on M·A·C cosmetics to develop a line to celebrate the life, legacy, and beauty of Selena.

After a Change.org petition that soared past it’s goal in under 24 hours and some major consideration from M·A·C,  James Gager, M.A.C senior vice-president and group creative director, released a statement in July saying, “We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies M·A·C’s philosophy.”

So makeup junkies celebrated their victory and patiently waited. Now over six months later M·A·C has released a sneak peek at what to expect from the upcoming collaboration.

The cosmetics company posted a photo of a new lipstick from the collection to Instagram. The lipstick is a pinkish red named “Como La Flor”, inspired of course by one of Selena’s hit songs.

Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla is curating the collection with M·A·C and thought carefully about the pieces going into the collection.

“I wanted the colours to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage,” she wrote. “It just shows the love her fan base has even though she’s gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she’s passed.”

There’s still more to come for this new collection, but we won’t be finding out everything any time soon, the collection is set to launch this October.
