This New Age Bra Could Save Your Life!

When it comes to bras it’s a real love/hate kind of thing.

We love the lift, support, and sexiness a bra can provide, but we hate actually putting on a bra, being betrayed by our under wire, and straps that dig in just a little too tight.

But thanks to scientists in Columbia, we might just have a new reason to add to the love side.

Fusion reports that a group of Colombian scientists have developed a bra that can detect breast cancer.

The bra is equipped with tiny infra-red sensors that can record breast temperatures and quickly warn of any irregularities they may detect.

The bra is currently being tested at Colombia’s National University and doesn’t have a name or mass production plan just yet.

Maria Camila Cortes is an electrical engineering student who is working on the new bra. She told Fusion, ““When you have cells in your mammary glands that are anomalous, the body needs to send more blood to that specific part of the body, and the temperature of this organ increases.”

Researchers have also equipped the bra with a chip that saves breast temperature recordings for further analysis by doctors.

“We don’t want to replace a doctor’s job,” added Maria Jaramillo, a fellow researcher. “The idea is to develop a technique that will help with [early] detection.”

Researchers are hoping to the the bra to market at an affordable price point.

What a win for boobs everywhere!
