Malia and Sasha Obama Are All Grown Up Attending First State Dinner!
Over the past eight years, we’ve seen the First Daughters, Sasha (14) and Malia (17) Obama grow up in the White House. The two teenagers always seemed unphased by politics and living life in the public eye.
Last night, they hit a new milestone attending their first White House state dinner to honor Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
Trudeau gave the girls a special tribute during his toast because he knows firsthand what it’s like growing up in the spotlight. He father was the Prime Minister of Canada from the time he was born until he was eight-years-old.
“The memories for me of being a kid and not being old enough to attend these kinds of events with my father almost makes me wish I had gone through my teenage years as the child of a world leader,” said Trudeau. “Almost.”
He went on to say, “I admire you very much, both of you, for your extraordinary strength and your grace.”
Trudeau said the girls’ unconventional childhoods would give them the “strength and wisdom beyond your years for the rest of your life.”
Sasha and Malia had some of the best seats in the house with Sasha sitting next to actress, Blake Lively, and Malia sitting next to actress, Sandra Oh, as well as her aunt and President Obama‘s sister, Maya Soetero-Ng and uncle, Konrad Ng.
