Is the World Ready for Chipotle to Sell Burgers?

Everyone is just starting to overcome their trust issues with Chipotle after a string of sickness broke out as a result of their food.

Our wounds are just now healing courtesy of an excess of free burritos, but it seems like Chipotle is already trying to overcompensate and push themselves more and more into our lives.

The chain Mexican grill restaurant is apparently looking to expand it’s menu to now include burgers. According to The Wall Street Journal “Chipotle is in the process of trademarking a new burger joint—called Better Burger—in an attempt to diversify its offerings.”

Chipotle already has two spin off franchises specializing in Asian food (ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen) and pizza (Pizzeria Locale) and it looks like they’re ready to dive into the deep end of the burger business.

The company seems really confident as Chipotle spokesperson Chris Arnold told Bloomberg, “We have noted before that the Chipotle model could be applied to a wide variety of foods.”

The jury is out on whether we’ll be willing to eat a Chipotle style burger, guess we’ll just have to see it to believe it.

Would you eat a burger from Chipotle or should they stick to bowls and tortillas? Sound off!
