DMX Said to Be in Good Spirits After He Almost Died
Yesterday, news broke about rapper DMX having to be resuscitated by first responders on Monday evening after he complained of shortness of breath and chest pains while outside the Ramada Yonkers in New York. The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is known to have a history of asthma-related issues, and by the time his team found his inhaler, he already collapsed.
According to TMZ, DMX was not breathing and there was no pulse and he had to be resuscitated. He was given Narcan by police officers, which is an anitdote to narcotic overdoses. According to a source, DMX “ingested some sort of powder” before he lost consciousness. He is currently in stable condition and being treated at a nearby hospital.
Not long after the story was reported, fans sent their prayers and well wishes to the rapper.
Frequent collaborator, friend and producer, Swizz Beatz, posted an update on Twitter letting fans know he spoke to DMX and he was in good spirits.
“Just got off the phone with the DOG,” he wrote. “He’s good and in great spirits Thanks for all the blessings @DMX the great.”
