Aretha Franklin Dropping Her Fur Coat at ‘Kennedy Center Honors’ is Ultimate Life Goals!
You’ve most likely seen the GIF circulating on the Internet of Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin dropping her fur coat while she’s on stage.
This has clearly become a “thing” with Franklin as did the same during her performance at this year’s Kennedy Center Honors, when she paid tribute to ‘Natural Woman’ songwriter Carole King while singing the 1968 classic.
The pre-taped ceremony aired on CBS last night, and Franklin gave everyone a reminder of why she’s the undistributed Queen of Soul.
Besides dropping her fur coat like a boss, Franklin had the entire room up on their feet singing along which included Viola Davis, Kerry Washington and ‘Jane the Virgin’ star Gina Rodriguez. She even made President Obama drop a tear, or maybe he just had something in his eye.

Either way, Franklin is a legend and she did what legends do.
