Hashtag Celebrates Black Beauty in a Major Way!
Black Twitter is at again, with a new hashtag that’s all about celebrating Black beauty!
23 year old Alicia Daniella is the mastermind behind the hashtag, #IWillNotApologizeForBeingDarkSkin.
Daniella shared her personal experiences with being bullied because of her complexion and wanted the hashtag to stand as a spark in a movement of self love.
Black beauty is not appreciated enough in the mainstream and as a result self hate is an eminent problem. Movements like these not only help elevate Black women, they speak to the issues Black men feel as well.
#IWillNotApologizeForBeingDarkSkin went viral and is joining the ranks alongside #FlexinMyComplexion and #MelaninMonday.
Black Twitter is backing the hashtag with full force and the tweets are fabulous, because it’s a celebration every time we link up!
