Times Square Plaza Could Get Shut Down Because of Topless Women!
Times Square is many things. The biggest tourist attraction in New York City? Yes. Always crowded with people? Yes. A place New Yorkers like to go to? Not ever.
Aside from all the dressed up characters overflowing the plaza area, there are also topless women covered in body paint who pose for pictures with tourists for money.
New York City mayor Bill de Blasio has grown frustrated with the topless women and is considering removing the plaza altogether.
Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, shares the same sentiments and believes the city can “clean it up, and we will.”
Critics of this proposed decision have drawn comparisons to Times Square staple, the Naked Cowboy who is topless and doesn’t seem to bother anyone. Also, being topless in New York has been legal for both men and women since 1992.
This is all true, but maybe because there are several topless women in the plaza area as opposed to one Naked Cowboy, which just adds to the already congested section of Manhattan.
Maybe it’s all a numbers game and if so, the city should really do something about all those dressed up characters.
