Kylie Jenner Back in Cornrows: Pissed or Unbothered?

It was only about a month ago Amandla Stenberg and Black twitter collectively dragged Kylie Jenner for rocking cornrows. But it seems the now 18-year-old reality star, couldn’t give a damn about her style choices, as she popped up on social media this week, sporting cornrows once again!

On Tuesday she Snapchatted her new hair style, featuring blonde hair pieces braided throughout.

Later in the week, Jenner’s friend Anastasia Karanikolaou, posted a photo of the 18 year-old posing in a Puma sports bra caressing her cornrowed head.

When Jenner first dropped her original cornrow pictures our girl Stenberg was vocal in her disgust, commenting on Kylie’s instagram post.

“When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism#whitegirlsdoitbetter.”

Jenner didn’t seem to give a damn responding, “Mad if I don’t. Mad if I do…Go hang w Jaden or something,” Somehow it’s really no surprise that Kylie is revisiting this style, but so what?

Do we still have a right to be mad about it or are we just being petty?

Chances are young Jenner didn’t exactly go home and do her research after being scolded for her first set of cornrows, so it’s unlikely she’s learned any lesson on the significance of the hairstyle.

Do we continue to drag her for wanting to pick and choose pieces of the Black experience and ignore the inconvenient ones, or do we give up on trying to enlighten her entirely and focus on things that matter like police brutality and the gender gap?
