This #SoGoneChallenge Perfectly Captures Black Girl Magic!

The latest trend sweeping across social media is the #SoGoneChallenge, where people are putting their own spin on Monica‘s 2003 single, “So Gone,” which was produced by Missy Elliott.

The beat is infectious and if the song was released today, it would still be a hit. Monica, herself, along with Missy, released their own version as part of the #SoGoneChallenge earlier this week. Other celebrities who have joined in on the fun include Dwyane Wade and Chance the Rapper.

However, Mary K. Bella‘s #SoGoneChallenge is a must-hear. In her rhymes, she tells her story of being a dark-skinned Black girl who was dismissed at school and given limits because of her complexion. However, she rose from all the doubt to become college-bound, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and find a man who loves her.

Get into the Black girl magic below!
