Young Thug Wears A Dress for Calvin Klein’s New Women’s Ad

One thing which sets rapper, Young Thug, apart from his contemporaries in hip hop, besides his style of flow, is he wears dresses. The Atlanta native who’s considered one of the biggest stars when it comes to trap music, is unabashedly carving a lane for himself in a culture known for its hyper-masculinity.

Thug, who has a love for fashion, is featured in a new campaign for Calvin Klein‘s women’s line and he wears what else, a dress.

Calvin Klein’s Instagram page, captioned the photo of Thug, with, “I disobey in #mycalvins.”

In a video accompanying the ad, Thug says, “In my world, of course, it don’t matter. You could be a gangster with a dress. Or you could be a gangster with baggy pants. I don’t feel like it’s no such thing as gender.”

Thug isn’t the only young man of this generation who challenges gender norms when it comes to fashion. Jaden Smith appeared in ads for Louis Vuitton‘s women’s line wearing a skirt.

It seems like we’re entering a new age of men being comfortable wearing gender-bending clothes and designers are jumping on the bandwagon.
