Rihanna Coming to Small Screen in “Bates Motel”!

Rihanna is continuing to dominate the worlds of music and fashion, and soon she will be taking her talents to the small screen with a role on A&E’s “Bates Motel.” The pop star will play the iconic role of Marion Crane.

For those who may not know, Crane was a character who checked into the Bates Motel, but never left because she was stabbed to death in the shower by Norman, the son of the motel’s owner, who was dressed as his mother, Norma.

The show is a prequel based on the classic 1960 film, Psycho, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. This announcement was made on Friday at Comic-Con in San Diego and Rihanna confirmed the news with a video of her own.

In her November 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, Rihanna said she was a fan of “Bates Motel,” so she will be in familiar territory.

This will be the show’s fifth and final season. Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin released a statement saying, “We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way. We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate.”

So far, this is Rihanna’s biggest scripted acting role.
