Stacey Dash was Living Off Handouts While She was Telling Women to ‘Work Harder’

Remember that interview Stacey Dash did with Meredith Viera in 2015? The one where she first denied the existence of the wage gap and then actually told women that it was their fault and they needed to work harder? Well according to new information obtained by Daily Mail, Dash’s idea of work harder is file for bankruptcy and get an allowance from her fiancé.

Daily Mail has gotten a hold of documents outlining that back in 2004 Stacey Dash was a broke, unemployed, pretty face with Saks, Macy’s, Benz, and IRS debt in an excess of $157,703.53.

In May of 2004 she filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy with $7 in her checking account and about $4000 worth of home goods, electronics, and the like.

At the time she was engaged to her second husband, James Maby, star of Bravo’s Southern Charm. While she couldn’t find work, she outlined her expenses as totaling about $5935 a month. Dash was able to maintain her lifestyle courtesy of $6000 a month support payments from her fiancé.

Her bankruptcy case was closed in 2006 when a trustee presiding over the case stated she had no assets.

Now, everyone has run into a rough patch, and having your man take care of you certainly isn’t the worst thing, but in the case of Stacey Dash we’ve got a problem.

It’s a problem because Dash went around blaming women for the wage gap, saying things like  “Stop making excuses. If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”

You can’t say those things and then conveniently leave out the part where you  did nothing and lived off of your fiancé.
Maybe those were the opportunities that Dash was talking about. She made sure she was prepared when a wealthy man was willing to cover her living expenses. She was the best at accepting that handout, as a matter of fact she was extraordinary at it. So extraordinary that their marriage only lasted a year.

Stacey Dash is more of a stereotype then even she realizes because she hits on so many. She’s the “bougie” elitist who sniffs her nose down at her race , she’s the poser who is keeping up appearances beyond her means; hell she’s even a form of welfare queen, who replaces the government with well off men.

Everyone’s life is their own to live how they chose but when you try to make a living off telling other people how to live their lives, when no one asked, then best believe your hypocrisy will get put on full blast.

Someone come gather Stacey, because we’re done here.
