Welp! Donald Trump is the Republican Nominee

Yesterday, after losing the Indiana primary, the once presidential hopeful Senator Ted Cruz, suspended his campaign, which now assures Donald Trump will get the Republican nomination.

It was the campaign suspension heard around the Internet as many were shocked and disgusted this could mean Trump really might have a legitimate shot at the White House.

In his speech, Cruz said, “We left it all on the field in Indiana. We gave it everything we’ve got but the voters chose another path. So with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign.”

These past few weeks weren’t the best for Cruz. Last week, before there was even a guarantee he would get the Republican nomination, he named Carly Fiorina as his running mate. This might not have set well with voters, because who does that?

And we can’t forget former Speaker of the House John Boehner coming out of retirement to refer to Cruz as, “Lucifer in the flesh.”

Nope. That didn’t help either.

Even though Indiana’s governor Mike Pence endorsed Cruz, he did so while also speaking kindly of Trump.

So, where does the Republican party go from here? They don’t even know.
