New MAC Makeup Line Pays Tribute to “Star Trek’s” Female Characters

To celebrate the legacy of the television show, “Star Trek,” turning 50 this year, MAC is releasing a makeup line inspired by the female characters such as Deanna Troi, Uhura, Seven of Nine and Vina and the Orion girl.

MAC creative director, James Gager, said in a statement, “‘Star Trek’ is an iconic pop culture phenomenon whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries…For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek’s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”

Entertainment Weekly reports the collection will feature 25 pieces of lip, eye and face products which will be available online on August 25 and in stores September 1. Also, those Trekkies attending San Diego Comic-Con will be able to purchase items from the collection at an exclusive one-day pre-sale on July 21.
