Kat Graham Will Play Jada Pinkett-Smith in Tupac Shakur Biopic!

The long-awaited and heavily anticipated Tupac Shakur biopic is finally happening. The film titled All Eyez On Me, will be directed by Benny Boom.

Fans of the hit show “The Walking Dead”, will be happy to know Danai Gurira will be playing Shakur’s mother, Afeni Shakur.

As we all know, Afeni is a political activist, a former Black Panther and is the keeper of her late son’s estate. Since his death in 1996, Afeni’s wanted to protect Shakur’s legacy.

Another casting announcement is Kat Graham, star of The CW’s “Vampire Diaries”. Graham will play Shakur’s longtime friend, Jada Pinkett Smith. The two were classmates and became friends while attending Baltimore School for the Arts. They maintained their friendship up until Shakur’s death in 1996.

The lead role of Shakur will be played by newcomer Demetrius Shipp, Jr. and actor Jamal Woolard, who starred as the Notorious B.I.G. in the biopic Notorious, will reprise his role as the Brooklyn MC.

Expect to see familiar faces such as  Keyshia Cole and Hill Harper in the film as well.

The film is currently under production in Atlanta and a release date has not been announced.
