Bill Cosby Could be Going to Jail Today!

We’re two days away from 2016, and Bill Cosby is continuing to make headlines. 2015 saw the former beloved comedian and TV dad fall from grace and become known as a serial rapist with more than 55 women accusing him of drugging and sexual assault.

It looks like his year just got a lot worse. News just broke from the Pennsylvania District Attorney Cosby will be charged with sexual assault stemming from a 2004 case involving the alleged drugging and raping of basketball player Andrea Constand.

The majority of Cosby’s allegations have fallen outside the statute of limitations. People.com confirmed an arrest warrant has been issued for Cosby today.

This news was first reported by Harry Hairston of NBC, who cited unnamed sources.

Reporter, T.J. Holmes, confirmed it was Constand’s case the charges are coming from.

Cosby is also wrapped up in multiple civil suits involving his accusers.

First assistant District Attorney, Kevin Steele, of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, confirmed Cosby’s charges of aggravated indecent assault, which is a first-degree felony.

“These charges stem from a sexual assault that took place on an evening in 2004 at Mr. Cosby’s home,” said Steele.

Steele said the victim, which is Constand, worked with Cosby in the basketball program and saw him as “mentor and friend” before “he urged her to take pills that he provided to her and drink wine.”

Steele also said, “new information came to light” in July 2015 regarding the assault, which has a statute of limitations of 12 years.

He says Cosby’s attorney has been notified of the charges and he is expected to be arraigned today. The victim is also willing to cooperate with prosecutors.

If convicted, how much prison time could Cosby be facing? In Pennsylvania, a first-degree felony is punishable by a prison sentence of 20 years and $25, 000 in fines.

It looks like Cosby will be making many more headlines in 2016.
