Watch Lauryn Hill Kill “Feeling Good” on Jimmy Fallon!

These days, getting to see a live performance from Lauryn Hill is rare, but last night on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ Ms. Hill proved why we’ve loved and respected her artistry over the years.

The singer/rapper/actress made her second late-night TV appearance in four years, performing a stirring rendition of the Nina Simone classic, “Feeling Good.”

Accompanied by a string section, three background singers, horns, a rhythm section and blues guitarist Eric Gales, the eight-time Grammy winner removed all doubt if you had been questioning her music chops since she’s stepped away from the spotlight.

Hill effortlessly hit her notes and the performance instantly became one that will be talked about the next day. Hill is a part of the Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone compilation, which is part of the Netflix documentary What Happened, Miss Simone, which is why she performed Simone’s “Feeling Good,” a track that she contributed to the project.

Check for Hill’s other contributions on the compilation with songs such as “Ne Me Quitte Pas,” “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair,” “Wild is the Wind,” “African Mailman” and “I’ve Got Life.”
