Guess Who’s Coming Back to ‘Scandal’!

Remember ‘Scandal’ season four when Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) got proofread for filth by a local community activist named Marcus Walker, after a young Black boy was shot by the police in a nearby D.C. neighborhood? That was Detroit native Cornelius Smith, Jr. and he’s coming back to ‘Scandal’ season five!

According to TV Line, Smith isn’t only making a return, he’s becoming a series regular. There were rumblings on Black Twitter that Shonda Rhimes would slot Smith into Columbus Short’s old spot. Turns out it’s true!

Smith, 33, previously appeared on ‘All My Children’ for three years and won an NAACP Image Award and an Emmy nomination for his portrayal as Frankie Hubbard.

Born and raised in D-town, Smith went to Cass Tech and Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha.

The talented young actor didn’t stop there, he went on to the prestigious New York University School of Acting, earning a Master’s in Fine Arts.

We’re excited to see Marcus make his return to the unpredictable world of D.C. politics. Especially after episode 19, when it was revealed Marcus slept with the mayor’s wife! Whew!

‘Scandal’ returns Thursday, September 24 at 9 ET! You ready?
